Tis' the Season.
Today is my last scheduled day to work for the rest of the year so of course everything is going wonderful.
I get an email yesterday that the other member of my group scheduled to work is out with the flu. Then I get an email from my boss. Her husband is so sick he can't make it to the Dr. so she will be late. So the weight of the app support world is on my shoulders, great.
I get on the elevator with ye 'ol cup of joe where I am accompanied by a random co-worker who proceeds to start telling me how wonderfully bad her night was because her panic attacks came back.
I get to my desk to find emails asking me to help with a problem on a random system that no-one knew existed. Except the people to call for help were clearly on the screen. Just not the screen shot sent to me along with the fact I was being told it was part of system B when it was not.
Then I get an email about system C not emailing people correctly. Except system C's primary user had fubared the data last week and fixed it. They waited a week to tell us about it but ehh who's counting. Oh and I don't work with sytem C that is the guy who is out with the Flu. So it takes me an hour to figure out a 2 second answer.
Maybe I can finish fixing problems with the system I am defacto supporting for our other co-worker who is out on a long foreign vacation. One step forward two steps back. I keep finding the Facepalm.
The good news is that I am off until after new-years. I just have to make it through the rest of the day.
I'm almost done with Christmas shopping. Dad and Great Grandma are the only ones left.
Dad will either be parts for his new toy from home depot or some shooty good parts.
